New album coming soon from Alison Krauss
Fans of Alison Krauss & Union Station will be pleased to know the bluegrass star and her band are getting ready to release their first new album in several years.
Titled Paper Airplane, the new album is set to drop on April 12. This is the first new studio release to follow Krauss’ efforts and success with Robert Plant, the former Led Zeppelin frontman who paired with her beautifully on the award-winning Raising Sand. Airplane was recorded in Nashville and includes new tracks plus covers of Richard Thompson’s “Dimming of the Day,” and Jackson Browne’s “My Opening Farewell.”
Krauss has missed recording with the band, saying, “I really wanted it to be just the five of us, so it’s pretty stripped down. We all have different tastes, and our backgrounds show up in a wonderful way on this record.”
New music usually means a new tour, but still no word on that front. Check back for more Alison Krauss news.
